Esta exhibición virtual presenta el trabajo colaborativo y de artivismo de mujeres jóvenes migrantes latinoamericanas en Londres, que buscan amplificar sus voces y compartir su mensaje reivindicativo de justicia social, igualdad de género, antirracismo y reconocimiento de la comunidad latinoamericana en el Reino Unido.
Las jóvenes participantes hacen parte del grupo Sin Fronteras de LAWRS, y a través de esta exhibición virtual, encuentran una nueva forma de expresión y un nuevo canal de difusión de su mensaje.
Estas son ellas, estas son sus voces.
This virtual exhibition presents the collaborative and artivist work of young Latin American migrant women in London, who seek to amplify their voices and share their claiming message of social justice, gender equality, anti-racism and recognition of the Latin American community in the United Kingdom.
The young participants are part of the LAWRS’ Sin Fronteras group, and through this virtual exhibition, they find a new form of expression and a new channel for disseminating their message.

Esta iniciativa es presentada por el grupo Sin Fronteras, que hace parte de LAWRS, el Servicio por los Derechos de la Mujer Latinoamericana, una organización feminista y de derechos humanos liderada por y para mujeres latinoamericanas en el Reino Unido.
Sin Fronteras es el proyecto de LAWRS que está especialmente enfocado en las necesidades de mujeres jóvenes latinoamericanas en Londres. Este proyecto configura un espacio para crear lazos de amistad, de apoyo y empoderamiento, de sororidad; en el que, a través de las artes, se exploran, se discute y se conforma un pensamiento crítico respecto a temas como el feminismo, la migración, la discriminación, el racismo, la cultura latinoamericana en Londres, el género y la identidad.
Desde este proyecto se busca apoyar a mujeres jóvenes, entre 14 y 21 años, de origen latinoamericano, que al igual que otras usuarias de LAWRS y otras personas migrantes, están expuestas a violaciones de sus derechos humanos fundamentales en diferentes etapas de su experiencia migratoria.
Los tiempos actuales, de crisis por la pandemia del Covid-19, han afectado las vidas de la ciudadanía en su conjunto, y las desigualdades se han visto exacerbadas.
Sin embargo, y a pesar de los cambios que hemos experimentado, las participantes del grupo de Sin Fronteras han sido fuertes y generosas, y nuevas formas de encuentro han surgido en las plataformas en línea. Así, las dificultades actuales no han impedido su participación, su disposición de apoyo mutuo, ni su deseo de reflexión crítica respecto a sus realidades específicas como mujeres, como jóvenes, como migrantes en la sociedad británica.
Desde LAWRS es nuestro deseo servir a la comunidad latinoamericana. Este grupo de jóvenes es un ejemplo de las dificultades de vivir desde la diferencia, con una identidad marcada por la intersección de categorías sociales y vulnerabilidades (de género, nacionalidad, idioma, etnia, entre otras), pero también de reivindicación de sus derechos, de participación para el mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida de la comunidad en su conjunto, y de incidencia política para, desde el activismo y el artivismo, ser agentes de cambio en la sociedad británica.
Que el ejemplo se replique, los derechos se reconozcan y respeten, y que sus voces se amplifiquen.
This initiative is presented by the Sin Fronteras group, which is part of LAWRS, the Latin American Women Rights Service, a feminist and human rights organisation led by and for Latin American women in the United Kingdom.
Sin Fronteras is the LAWRS project that is especially focused on the needs of young Latin American women in London. This project configures a space to create bonds of friendship, support, empowerment and sisterhood; where through the arts, we explore, discuss and conform a critical thinking, regarding issues such as feminism, migration, discrimination, racism, Latin American culture in London, gender and identity.
This project seeks to support young women, between 14 and 21 years old, of Latin American origin, who, as other LAWRS’ users and other migrants, are exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights at different stages of their migration experience.
However, and despite the changes we all have experienced, Sin Fronteras group participants have been strong and generous, and new forms of meeting have emerged on online platforms. Thus, the current difficulties have not impeded their participation, their willingness to support each other, or their desire for critical reflection regarding their specific realities as women, as young people, as migrants in British society.
From LAWRS it is our desire to serve the Latin American community. This group of young women is an example of the difficulties of living from difference, with an identity marked by the intersection of social categories and vulnerabilities (gender, nationality, language, ethnicity, among others), but also of claiming their rights, of participation for the improvement of the living conditions of the community as a whole, and of political incidence to, through activism and artivism, be agents of change in British society.
May the example be replicated, rights recognised and respected, and their voices amplified.
